Description

The Latino Community Foundation (LCF) is joining forces with the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) and the Latino Giving Circle Network to co-host an important Community Conversacion in the Central Valley.

We invite you to join us for --- Unleashing Latino Potential: Solutions for Success in Higher Education on August 30th at Bitwise Industries in Fresno.

The goal of this event is to feature regional solutions that empower and support Latino youth to thrive academically and prepare them for 21st Century jobs. Latino youth, the fastest growing population in California, have so much to contribute to the future of California’s economy, but continue to face multiple barriers to college completion. Simultaneously, California is projected to have a 1.1 million college graduate shortage by 2030. By focusing on community and institutional changes, we start working to change the course of our future. More Latinos graduating from college means greater economic mobility for Latino youth and an increase in economic progress for families and communities.

The Central Valley has the highest percentage of Latinos in the State and the highest potential for academic success and economic growth. It is for this reason, we have chosen to have this conversation in Fresno at Bitwise Industries— a one of a kind hub of technological innovation, education and collaboration in the heart of the Valley.
